Man progresses continuously with time, never stopping till the day of that absolute end. And life ends with courage…” Gökhan Kırdar’s album “Trip” released in 1997 is accepted to be the only example of trip hop, ambient, techno-rock and electronic music concept in Turkey which just started to be accepted even in the world. The whole album prepared by sampling technology, became an example of courage because it was made in a geography where the eastern music was widely spread and because of the philosophical meaning hidden in the lyrics of the song. Tutunamadım / 1995

“… It is not ingenious to sing love in the songs, would you believe them if I did not live them. It is not ingenious to say that you are human, you have to be one….” The album “Tutunamadım” was released in 1995 and it was first with this album that all the arrangements of the songs were started to be made by Gökhan Kırdar. Thus the artist, in line with the innovative sound concept, gave the signals of the cyclically expressed and industrially and ethnic mixed music logic five years before it was so named with the release of his album “Ethnotronix”. The album “Tutunamadım” was overlooked by the music critics of that period. The album containing the hit songs like ‘Üstüme Basıp Geçme’, ‘Gece Melek’ was prepared by Göksoy Plakçılık Productions.

Serseri Mayın / 1994

“… I am human, sometimes I am sad, crying out the loneliness of a flower growing at the foot of a wall, I may weep for nights long. Sometimes I am joyful, telling that sweet pleasure I get from life, sing them in my songs for years…” “Serseri Mayın” is special since it is the first album of Gökhan Kırdar. The album including hit songs like “Yerine Sevemem”,”Fayton”, “April” and “Gözbebeğim” reached a great audience the year it was released. The album, prepared with a concept of a sound mixing Latin and traditional instruments which may be described as Mediterranean music, found a unique place among the population of Turkish Pop Music increasing in number in those years.
